I am proud to serve as Head of School of Solomon Schechter Day School. To me, Schechter is much more than a school. It is the place that gave me my roots. It is a place where I met my husband, where we raised our children, and where I am now honored to lead our outstanding faculty as we educate a new generation of engaged Jewish citizens who make our community and our world a better place.

During the last 25 years, I have taken on many roles in the Schechter community, including teacher, Director of Education, Principal, Assistant Head of School, and now Head of School. My leadership style has been guided by my commitment to being fully present in my work and developing a mindful culture within our school community.

I begin every school day with the following message to our students: “Every action counts and every word has power, so choose actions and words that will make the world a better and kinder place.” I chose these words, inspired by Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, because I truly believe it is the most important message and lesson that we can pass along to our students. It is the essence of living a meaningful life -- knowing that you matter, that your words and actions matter, and that you have the power to impact this world and live a meaningful life.

I am committed to the mission and values that Schechter embodies. I believe that every day, as educators, we do holy work with our students — creating confident, competent and committed Jews who think critically and feel empowered to enhance the world through their words and actions.

I hope you are inspired by what you see on our website, and encourage you to visit us to see Schechter in action.

I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Schechter community.

In a time where the challenges facing our children are complicated and ever-changing, Schechter's ability to meet students' needs academically, socially, and emotionally sets the school apart.
